When technology fails

Sometimes, you alarm clock just doesn't go off.  There is no reason, no explanation; your technology simply failed you.  What can you do then? Not much, as no one beleives the old 'my alarm clock didn't go off".  Well, it really happened to me this morning.  Luckily I woke up 10 minutes after I wanted too, otherwise it would have been a big problem.

Procrastination is never a good thing

Well, I am sitting here trying to study for my next 7 tests in 6 days.  It seems like I always end up waiting until the last minute, but it would have been so easy to start studying a week earlier.  I'll be sure to remember this next semester, and remember what it's like to stress out about cramming for major tests.

Bad news for Red Raider fans

Last years star quarterback from Texas Tech, Graham Harrell, who finished 5th in heisman voting, was undrafted in the 2009 NFL draft.  As if that isn't disappointing enough, he just got dropped from the Cleveland Brown's practice team.  All of this is adding insult to injury for Tech fans, as star receiver Michael Crabtree, who was the consensus top receiver, was dropped all the way to the 10th pick.

Pontiacs we'll miss

Many superb cars were made by Pontiac back in the day.  The 1959 bonneville, 70 GTO, and the 69 firebird trans-am are just a few, and most recently the new g8 gt will not have a chance to develope. While Pontiac was the first from GM to go, many are saying it's only a matter of time before the next company goes down.

Wal-Mart

If you are ever feeling depressed or down, just go to the nearest Wal-Mart.  Once you go inside, you will feel a lot better about your own life.  Seeing the problems that many customers have there, whether it be screaming kids or pregnant women wearing spaghetti straps, will make you appreciate your life that much more.

Just got back from the gym

Nothing feels quite as good as relaxing after an intense workout.  You know you did something worthwhile with your time,  and you know you'll be better for it.  Plus, when you relax it feels twice as good after all the work you just did.

Finally finished the English paper

After a night of intense writing, the final English paper is written.  It really feels like an accomplishment when you look at the 1000+ words you wrote and how far you've come from the 250 word papers at the semester's start.

Free rice

Isn't it great that we can earn extra credit, expand our vocabulary, and donate rice to those in need all by answering vocabulary questions at freerice.com? It seems too good to be true, but it isn't, it's just another one of those modern marvels.

Are you smarter than a 2 year old?

Most toddlers are learning their ABCs, but Elise Tan Roberts can already say "isosceles."  This 2 year old British toddler has an astonishing IQ of 156!  Compare that to Albert Einstein's IQ of 160, and you see even more how astonishing this little girl is. She knows 35 countries capitals, and can count in english and spanish. Maybe we should take this as a sign to start giving our children tea at a young age.

Sunday mornings

My favorite thing about sunday mornings is that they always seem to be sunny and clear skied.  You get to sleep in, relax for most of the day, and finish up any homework that's due the next week.  It isn't hectic like friday or saturday, which makes it special.

Swine flu is dying down

Now, apparently the swine flu isn't as dangerous as expected. The spread of this disease has slowed substancially, and it hasn't mutated as scientists had feared. That's good news for everyone across the world, especially Mexico. Hopefully it will continue to die down.

The end is near

With my classes nearly over, it's finally time to buckle down and start studying for my finals.  It'll be hard, but after the finals are done and over, I'll have all summer to relax and have fun.  Sometimes you just have to look ahead to concentrate on the present.
